Electrochemical Manufacturing in the Chemical Industry

Chemical manufacturing creates products by transforming organic and inorganic raw materials using chemical processes. There are over 100,000 chemicals in the marketplace. Chemicals can very broadly be classified into two groups: commodity chemicals and specialty chemicals. Commodity chemical manufacturers produce large quantities of basic and relatively inexpensive compounds (up to $1 per kg) in large plants, often built specifically to make one chemical.
