Huge ALTOSONIC 5 ultrasonic flowmeters for custody transfer (CT) applications | KROHNE

The video deals with the production and calibration of ALTOSONIC 5 ultrasonic flowmeters. Context: KROHNE produced a series of 48” ALTOSONIC 5 ultrasonic flowmeters for custody transfer (CT) to measure crude oil up to 15,000 m³/h. The calibration was done with up to 4,500 m³/h on 1 and 20 cSt at EuroLoop, and up to 15,000 m³/h on KROHNE’s water calibration loop in Dordrecht, The Netherlands. All meters stayed very well within the 0.027% uncertainty as per API 5.8, table B-1. The meters are fully bore and fully pig-able as they do not require a flow conditioner. Furthermore, they have a dedicated transducer installed on the 12 o’clock position to enable full pipe detection.
