Taiwan EPA issues revised registration rules and Pecs list

Taiwan’s EPA has issued wide-ranging and long-awaited revisions to its rules for registering new and existing chemicals, along with a finalised list of 106 ‘priority existing chemicals’. The revised Regulation of New and Existing Chemical Substances Registration was issued on 11 March and came into effect on the same day. Mr Hsu Chung-hao, section chief in the Toxic and Chemical Substance Bureau (TCSB) evaluation management division, told Chemical Watch that the final version is almost the same as those previously discussed with stakeholders last autumn, with only "semantic changes" requested by the EPA’s legal department.
