INDORAMA STARTS UP PURIFIED ISOPHTHALIC ACID PLANT IN ALABAMA

Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited (IVL; Bangkok, Thailand; www.indoramaventures.com) announced the commencement of commercial production of purified isophthalic acid (PIA) plant at Indorama Ventures Xylenes & PTA, LLC, located at Decatur, Alabama, USA. The Decatur PIA plants complement IVL’s existing PIA Plant at IVL Quimica, Spain. The two PIA plants have a combined nameplate capacity of 440,000 metric tons per year (m.t./yr) ,and IVL is the only PIA producer with dual facilities in the two large-consumption regions of EMEA and Americas serving the needs of PET and specialty chemicals producers.
