Feature: What are the big TSCA deadlines coming up this summer?

Deadlines are looming for the risk evaluations and collection of fees associated with 30 high-priority chemicals, reporting obligations related to the chemical data reporting (CDR) rule – and the continued protection of certain confidential business information (CBI). Most of these deadlines are set out in TSCA itself, giving the US EPA little room to manoeuvre despite the disruptions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. That leaves a pile of work ahead for the agency and a crush of deadlines for companies and other stakeholders hoping to provide the EPA with the information it needs to implement the chemical controls mandated in the reformed law.
