Echa launches EU chemicals legislation finder

Echa has released its EU chemicals legislation finder (Euclef) containing 35 pieces of legislation. The five regulations actively administered by the agency – REACH, CLP, Pic, biocides and POPs – are not listed on the Euclef webpage but can be found elsewhere on the Echa website. The 35 Euclef pieces include those dealing with chemicals in food contact materials, cosmetic products, toys, and electrical and electronic equipment. As obligations from different Union laws can apply to the same chemical, the finder acts as a central searchable portal and will bring "clarity" to companies, in particular SMEs, on which pieces of legislation apply to their substances, the agency says. Echa executive director Bjorn Hansen said the finder will be "really helpful for companies, especially SMEs, who need to track their obligations across different EU laws".
