Brenntag acquires speciality chemicals distributor Alphamin

German chemical distribution company Brenntag has completed the acquisition of Belgian speciality chemicals distributor Alphamin and its US subsidiary. Alphamin’s speciality polymer and wax solutions are applicable to a wide range of industries worldwide. For the financial year ended 30 June 2018, the business reported total sales of approximately €44.6m. Commenting on the deal, Brenntag Group board member and Brenntag Europe the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) CEO Karsten Beckmann said: “With its global reach, its product portfolio and expertise, Alphamin is an attractive bolt-on acquisition for Brenntag’s existing speciality chemicals business, strengthening and expanding our existing offer to customers in the material science segment.”
