BASF TO BUILD NEW PRODUCTION LINE FOR COSMETICS INGREDIENTS IN SOUTH CAROLINA

BASF Corp. (Florham Park, N.J.; www.basf.com/us) is investing in its operations in Mauldin, South Carolina to enable production of pearlizers and opacifiers used in cosmetic products. Start-up of the new production line is planned for the end of 2019. The capacity addition will allow the company to meet the increasing demand for pearlizers and opacifiers, improve supply reliability and reduce lead times in North America. “With shortened cycles for product launches and changing demands due to the rise of e-commerce, our customers need a fast and flexible supply of personal care ingredients,” said Daniele Piergentili, Vice President, BASF Home & Personal Care, North America. “The investment in our Mauldin site will improve the supply performance of our Personal Care Solutions portfolio.”
