Investigating undergraduate student understanding of chemical kinetics

In recent years there has been a legislative drive for companies to substitute hazardous chemicals in their products and supply chain with safer alternatives. In REACH, the European wide chemical legislation, substances of very high concern SVHCs are identified, restricted and banned in due course.

The hydrogen economy is on fire. Each day brings announcements of new hydrogen projects, ranging from small to gargantuan. And more than $150 billion is in the investment pipeline, according to the Hydrogen Council. But moving across the carbon spectrum from gray to green is no easy feat.

Thermal characterization of materials by using the DSC, TGA, and SDT are important techniques that are used by a wide variety of industries, including polymers, composites, pharmaceuticals, foods, petroleum, inorganic and organic chemicals, and many others.

The management of hazardous waste in China is becoming a more and more important topic as the central government has been putting a lot of effort in the regulation on the hazardous chemicals and the improvement of the environmental quality. The latest version of the Inventory of Hazardous Wastes was published in March 2016. The new version became effective on Aug 1st 2016 and included significant changes compared to its predecessor, the 2008 version. However, industry has encountered some problems relating to the implementation of the Inventory.
