CW report highlights Helsinki Chemicals Forum themes

A just-released Chemical Watch report has brought together all of the highlights from this year’s eleventh Helsinki Chemicals Forum. The event, which took place on 23 and 24 May, saw almost 200 international policy makers, industry, NGOs and academics, discuss themes on: how to pick the best options to manage risks of SVHCs; grouping of chemical substances and avoiding regrettable substitution; how to measure the performance of different chemical management systems;
plastics and circularity – from pollution to a value based proposition for all; and the struggle between data access and protection of intellectual property. Delegates also heard keynote addresses on 'Beyond 2020 – circularity and the role of chemicals'. This year’s Forum also promoted the case for the safe administration of chemicals while taking stock of the diverse political landscape and the hurdles to preserving human health and the environment.
