PureCycle Technologies, Inc. has agreed to establish its first U.S. cluster plant to make ultra-pure recycled polypropylene (rPP) from waste polypropylene with The Augusta Economic Development Authority (PP). The 200-acre site at Augusta Corporate Park will produce over 80 manufacturing jobs, with an initial $440 million investment largely funding three lines with a capacity of 130mm pounds during Phase 1 of the project. Augusta-Richmond County was chosen because of its feed and product delivery supply-chain efficiency, community support, a skilled labour market, and Georgia's business-friendly environment.
PureCycle recycles waste PP using licenced proprietary technology to produce ultra-pure recycled PP for use in consumer goods, automotive, building and construction, and industrial applications.
The organisation has the ability to process a wide range of waste PP with varied amounts of contamination.
"We are happy that a solutions-oriented company like PureCycle will be joining the recycling ecosystem we're creating in Georgia," said Pat Wilson, Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development.
"I applaud Governor Brian Kemp, the state Legislature, and our Augusta Economic Development Authority allies for assisting us in maintaining our pro-business environment, which allows us to welcome initiatives like this to Georgia."
The Augusta plant helps boost PureCycle's ability to supply product at scale with a robust process designed to produce 130mm pounds per year per processing line, with additional capacity to build up to five processing lines within Augusta Corporate Park. By 2025, the business expects to have produced one billion pounds of virgin-like rPP from PP across its network. Construction on the company's flagship Ironton, Ohio recycling facility is well underway, and more than 20 years of output has already been pre-sold.
"The Augusta Economic Development Authority is pleased to welcome an innovative and rapidly expanding company to the Augusta Corporate Park. As they construct their facilities and add skilled jobs with higher-than-average pay to the neighbourhood, they contribute to our larger aim to improve our park. We are excited to welcome our second corporate partner to the community "Augusta Economic Development Chairman Steven Kendrick stated
"We are thrilled to be collaborating with the Augusta Economic Development Authority to build our next polypropylene purification facility," stated PureCycle CEO Mike Otworth. "As manufacturers seek sustainable materials for their goods, demand for high-quality recycled polypropylene continues to outstrip supply. Our Augusta location will be critical in our efforts to address the plastics waste challenge."

The understanding targets creating in participation the model which thinks about waste as an asset to deliver progressed powers, hydrogen, composts and low carbon compound items. The cycle of synthetic change of waste into syngas and the utilization of this middle of the road to create roundabout hydrogen, progressed fills and numerous other key items for world economies, permits to add to the decarbonization of creation measures and to lessen the carbon impression in the last use period of items.
The partnership between the organizations permits a coordinated upgrade of plant advancements of JFE and Maire Tecnimont Group for the acknowledgment of Waste to Chemical activities, beginning from the possibility concentrate from a financial and specialized viewpoint, up to the turn key development, remembering the high qualified preparing of the staff for JFE plants in Japan. Beginning from JFE's experience Nextchem has characterized an incorporated Waste to Chemicals mechanical stage that is prepared to permit around the world.
"The recuperation of carbon and hydrogen contained in waste permits to lessen the utilization of fossil hotspots for the creation of powers and fundamental synthetics. The joint effort among NextChem and JFE Engineering Corporation upgrades the expertise of the Groups. NextChem means to extend its proposal to the worldwide market of mechanical answers for the energy progress and round economy, invigorating the interest. Our innovative Waste to Chemical stage is strong, referred to, prepared and beneficial; it is our reaction to the constrained and temperate way to a low-carbon economy, to the issue of reliance from abroad of numerous nations for some fundamental results of the synthetic business and furthermore to the worldwide issue of recuperation of waste portions as of now not recyclable", remarked Pierroberto Folgiero, CEO of Maire Tecnimont Group and NextChem.
