SPATCO Energy Solutions (SPATCO), a leading infrastructure services provider of innovative turnkey solutions for the environmental, petroleum, and EV business segments, recently announced that it has completed the acquisition of Petro Supply, a renowned Mid-Atlantic distributor of petroleum equipment. Additionally, with the acquisition of McKinney Petroleum Equipment in January 2023, the platform is broadening its geographic reach while strengthening its leading position in the Southeast.
Petro Supply, founded in 1971, specializes in selling and distributing petroleum equipment, including components and materials for the construction and maintenance of convenience shops, gas stations and petroleum and chemical handling facilities. Petro Supply is one of the top petroleum equipment distributors in the mid-Atlantic. The purchase signifies SPATCO's entry into the DC, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey markets, which adds full-service capabilities to Petro Supply's existing and prospective client base.
SPATCO completed the acquisition of McKinney Petroleum Equipment, a leading single-source petroleum provider in Alabama, earlier this year, further cementing its Southeast position with a strong Gulf Coast footprint.
Within a robust and developing sector, the energy infrastructure and services business is highly fragmented, with tremendous consolidation and platform-building opportunities. SPATCO's EBITDA has more than tripled since Kian's first 2020 investment, thanks to organic development, a solid management team, as well as four tuck-in acquisitions. SPATCO employs over 700 people, including 400+ technicians, spanning 26 branches in 17 states in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic.
